In its time, Terminal 5 at Heathrow airport was the largest construction project in Europe. BAA plc declared that one of its aims was to develop ground-breaking project controls that would allow the project to be delivered on budget – this was achieved.

Commercial Consultant – design and implementation of commercial systems.

Secondment into the project controls department during the procurement phase to define and implement ‘best practice’ project controls for the entire £5bn project, which would then be mandated to all of BAA’s Tier 1 and 2 contractors.

• Workshop facilitation.

• Capture and documentation of requirements.

• Interpreting complex requirements from multiple stakeholders.

• Managing and communicating with stakeholders, including presentation of the solution.

   

• Defined consistent and robust reporting hierarchies for the project controls commercial system.
• Designed and created requirement documents for inclusion in the Tier 1 and 2 contracts.
• Developed the commercial processes and protocols that provided a consistent approach to project controls across all Tier 1 contractors working on the Terminal 5 project.
